The Board of LOI feels the deep pain of the events taking place in Ukraine, and we share in the suffering that it brings all people.
We rejoice in the courage shown by God’s people to assist victims including refugees, the homeless and those impoverished affected by the conflict, and pray for them to bear witness to the hope proclaimed in the Gospel.
We bear witness to the mutual love and peace that flows from the Gospel and pray for a peaceful resolution to the conflict to be found as soon as possible.
We call on everyone to reconcile their differences in mutual dialogue and mutual understanding.
We look forward to welcoming brothers and sisters from Ukraine and Russia at our future consultations.
