Ralph Lee writes: I want to recommend this book. It records the place of the church in the nation of Georgia, and paints a very positive picture of the place of the church in holding together the nation, and in building the nation after Communism. With so many negative views on the nationalism of the Orthodox Churches, it is a rather refreshing view of how this can be very positive. I can’t recommend it enough – I am making it compulsory reading for my SOAS students.
